When the unfortunate moment comes to return home, be sure to give yourself at least 3 hours at the Aruban airport. The process isn’t particularly slow, however there are a lot of steps. Once you get to Queen Beatrix, you’ll check your luggage, go through immigration, go through customs, go through security, reclaim your luggage, check your luggage again and go through one last security stop. Like we said, a lot of steps.
As soon as you arrive in Aruba you’ll find a duty-free liquor store by the baggage claim. If you want something in particular to bring to your room, save some money on the tax and pick it up there! You’ll also find other duty-free shops throughout the airport upon departure if you’d like to bring something home (but don’t linger if time is short to make sure you leave enough time to get through all of the airport steps).
Luggage carriers are free in Aruba! Don’t struggle to carry out your bags and grab one of the free luggage carriers to make life stress-free from the moment you step off the plane.
One process that is super easy is the customs process after you land on the island. It usually only takes a minute or two.
